HADLEY'S STORY
Hadley was born in September 2001 and diagnosed with a hearing loss through the universal newborn hearing screen. Subsequent testing determined her severe bilateral sensorineural hearing loss was of a genetic nature (Connexin 26). Aided at six months, Hadley began weekly auditory-verbal therapy lessons that continued for five years. Hadley attended our town's integrated preschool program and is currently a third grade student in the local public elementary school. She is 9 years old and loves to read, ride her bike, swim, go to the beach, sing, write stories, hang with her friends, and play with her 4 year old twin brothers, Conor and Brady. Hadley is just your typical girl-- who happens to wear hearing aids.
